Desert-Wise Living Programs

MBCA's Desert-Wise Living Program series began in 2011 with the first Desert-Wise Landscape Tour, which has become a signature event for the Morongo Basin each April. In April 2016 over 330 people participated in the extended 2-day event. MBCA's 2017 Desert-Wise Landscape Tour will take place on April 22 and 23.

Additional lectures and workshops have been presented each year in the fall months, to educate residents not only about water-wise landscaping and use of native plants, but also about energy and water conservation. More recently, programs have included a new focus on developing local renewable energy with the emphasis on "distributed generation."
