I will be working when this meeting is held, so I wanted to input the following. When I arrived in Lucerne Valley in 1978, there was only one Joshua tree on the property where I live. During rainy years 12 more have sprouted. I water them sparingly, but regularly. Instead of the questionable practice of fighting everchanging climate change, why not replicate our success here by supplying water to seedlings where possible, developing springs where possible, and creating large and small rainwater catch basins. I suspect we’ll end up with expanding numbers of trees, plus increases in bighorns and tortoises. Bill Lembright, Lucerne Valley
