The Morongo Basin Conservation Association [MBCA] is offering two $1000 scholarships for graduating high school seniors who are Morongo Basin residents and plan to attend a college or university in 2022-23. Applicants must demonstrate a strong interest in developing an academic and/or personal emphasis related to environmental conservation through their education. Any academic field can be considered if there is a related interest in the environment and/or conservation as described in the student’s application. Majors from A to Z that help to protect Mother Earth might include:
Art/Architecture, Biology, Conservation, Desert Studies, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Ecology, Fire Ecology, Geography, Geology, Hydrology, Ichthyology, Environmental Justice, Kinesiology, Land Management, Media, Native American Studies, Outdoor Recreation, Planning, Quantum Physics, Renewable Energy, Science, Solar Energy, Technology, Urban Planning, Veterinary Medicine, Wildlife, Xeriscape, Youth Education, ZoologyOne of our MBCA Scholarships is supported by memberships and donations to our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The second MBCA Scholarship is supported by an anonymous and forward-thinking donation.
Student applicants must be Morongo Basin residents and 2022 high school graduates. The minimum GPA requirement is 2.50. The application must be completed and submitted by Saturday, April 9, 2022.
