Meg Foley, Director

meg_photo.jpgI have lived in the Morongo Valley part time since 1984 – fulltime since 1987.
The Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, the diverse flora and fauna and rural quality of life is what attracted me to make Morongo Valley home.  I travelled every state on the mainland with an eye towards residency but kept coming back to Morongo Valley.
Current community involvements: Employed as the Executive Director of the Joshua Tree National Park Association.  Board positions: California Desert Coalition; MBCA; Friends of Big Morongo Canyon Preserve; MV Chamber of Commerce; Basin Energy Assessment Team.   Past invovlements: Morongo Valley Fire Safe Council; Morongo Valley Fire Explorers; Community events and programs: Fiesta Days; Earth Day and Christmas Cheer for Kids.
I am passionate about the preservation of the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve and Joshua Tree National Park and surrounding lands;  ensuring industrial scale renewable development projects are not sited in pristine areas; and   formation of the Sand to Snow National Monument.
MBCA keeps abreast of the many threats to our area, is experienced at presenting thoughtful, factual responses while fostering an appreciation for our delicate environment.
