Understanding Western Joshua Trees and Climate Change

This Defend-the-Desert Workshop and Webinar sponsored by the California Desert Coalition and MBCA will focus on all aspects of the proposed California Endangered Species Act (CESA) "threatened" listing for the western Joshua tree, including the science behind it and regulatory issues. Also included will be a report on California's climate change tool for carbon storage in the natural environment. Speakers include:
  • Dr Tim Krantz, environmental scientist, educator, and retired planning commissioner
  • Brendan Cummings, conservation director for Center of Biological Diversity
  • Dr Cameron Barrows, professor emeritus, research ecologist, UC Riverside
  • Chris Clarke, associate director for the CA Desert Program, National Parks Conservation Assn.
