Archaeopalooza 2022

This free family-friendly event includes lectures and activities related to archaeology and Native American culture in the desert. It is sponsored by the Desert Institute of the Joshua Tree National Park Association and held at the Bell Center of Copper Mountain College. Pre-registration is requested.

Joan Schneider will give a talk on "The Life and Legacy of Elizabeth Warder Crozier Campbell"; Bruce Bridenbecker will give a talk on the "Mohave Nation Version of the Formation of Amboy Crater; Hayley Elsken, associate state archaeologist, will present “What’s in a Circle? Exploring Rock Circles in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park”; and MacKenzie Hitchcock, archaeologist at Death Valley National Park will inform the audience on “Bringing Death Valley to Life: the Archaeology of the Hottest Place on Earth”.
