Now a Morongo Basin community tradition, the annual Desert-Wise Landscape Tour in late April provides desert dwellers and visitors a day to enjoy the beauty and creativity of several local desert gardens. Hosted by homeowners, the Tour sites demonstrate the beauty of native and drought-tolerant plants and demonstrate low water use techniques. Many sites include unusual and artful sculpture or hardscape enhancements. In-person tours began in 2011, and have been augmented with video tours beginning in 2020.
