The Wildlands Conservancy is hosting this event at its Whitewater Preserve to celebrate the passage of California Assembly Bill 1183 that initiated a California Desert Conservation Program. The bill was  authored by Assemblymember James C. Ramos, formerly a San Bernardino County Supervisor whose district included the Morongo Basin.
