Earth Hour 2022

In honor of the 2021 adoption of an improved outdoor lighting ordinance for San Bernardino County, MBCA urges you to take part in this international event by simply turning out your lights for one hour on Saturday evening, March 26, from 8:30-9:30 PM. Enjoy music by candlelight or go outside to watch the night sky. This event began in 2007 in Australia to bring attention to climate change, and in 2021 there were participants from over 190 countries. The Earth Hour website includes a huge amount of information as well as suggestions for how to take part, an interesting  timeline of the event's milestones, a listing of events worldwide, and lots of other information about the value of dark skies. If you plan to participate in any way, please RSVP on this page and we will send you a message after March 26 asking you to report to us on your Earth Hour activity, to be shared on our website and/or our Facebook page.
