CA Fish & Game Commission Meeting, Joshua Trees on Agenda

On the Commission's agenda at this online meeting is their decision whether to make the western Joshua tree (Yucca brevifolia) a candidate for listing as a threatened species in California. The original petition by the Center for Biological Diversity was filed in October 2019; the Commission staff prepared a summary report in favor of the designation. MBCA sent our letter of support for the endangered designation in June. This is the second day of the Commission's meeting; the Joshua tree item is #25 on a schedule that begins with #17. Please use this information to virtually attend the meeting and make your comment in favor of designating the western Joshua tree as engendered in California law.
