Adventurous Red Racer

I have had quite a few adventures with red racers, also known as coachwhips. They are fast and aggressive and will mimic rattlesnakes. This one was on some kind of climbing adventure, somehow launching itself up from the rosemary bush onto the hummingbird feeder. It looked around for a while, perhaps looking for prey, then gradually wound off the feeder, down the pole, and disappeared into the rosemary. (Yes, that's a treasured Mike Smiley coyote sculpture in the background.) I've had other red racer adventures including a small one's head popping up from the drain in my garage sink, and a head looking down at me from the swamp cooler vent in the middle of my house!
