SPARC/ RECE Workshop - August 4th, Thursday
SPARC (San Bernardino County Partnership for Renewal Energy and Conservation) has been a very important process for the residents of the Morongo Basin, intended to provide public input into the County’s Renewable Energy and Conservation Element.
MBCA's members and supporters participated in public outreach meetings to inform the Commission of our position on the use, siting, and impacts of renewable energy in our communities. We supported the SPARC Framework released last year and are eager now to hear the proposed plan to implement the Energy Component into the County’s General Plan. Our continued engagement and attendance at the Workshop next week is critical.
Attend this meeting to learn how successfully MBCA and our conservation partners’ positions have been incorporated into the Draft Energy Component. The Workshop is for “discussion and information-exchange” and will kick-off a 60-day public review period. While no action by the Commission is required at this meeting, it’s important we keep our eyes on the prize, let the Commissioners know we are watching, and ensure Basin communities’ interests become policy.
